Kids Eat For for the iPhone and iPod touch uses GPS and search to help you find local restaurants where kids eat free or cheap. It has maps, deal details, directions, Yelp reviews, and sometimes even menus. Sick of buying food that your kids don’t eat? Try this handy app.
This app is also useful for finding good deals while traveling with kids. Who couldn’t use a price break then?
Why we like it:
Very intuitive with lots of functionality. Plus, what’s not to love about free food at your fingertips? This app makes it very easy to make an informed dining decision on the fly. We also like the cute school-style chalkboard styling.
Depending on where you live, it might be slim pickings. Even here in very suburban Palo Alto, California (where the app was tested) there were only 18 deals within 40 miles. Many of the restaurants are chains, but that’s not the developers’ fault.
If you are flexible about food, you should absolutely buy this app—it will pay for itself in one meal out. If you are a foodie family with gourmet tastes, forget it.
