Pulling your hair out over how to delete apps from your iPhone or iPod touch? We’ve been there. The Apple interface has a reputation for being intuitive, but sometimes it isn’t (especially if you grew up on a PC). Like anything, it’s easy once you know how.
Here are the steps:
1. Locate the app you want to delete
2. Touch and hold down the icon of the application you want to delete
3. After three seconds all the icons will start to wiggle and display delete symbols (small x’s). Apps that came with your iPhone won’t have x’s, and can’t be deleted.
4. Touch the x of the app you want to delete, and follow the prompts
You’ll probably want to delete the app from your iTunes account as well, otherwise you’ll wind up re-installing it every time you sync.
Alternatively you can set iTunes not to automatically sync all your apps (checking the boxes of only those apps you want to sync), but this can get a little messy.
Doesn’t it feel good to de-clutter?
