Mushroom Age is a hidden pictures app for kids who are ready to cut their teeth on something a little more challenging.
A woman’s fiance goes missing a few days before the wedding. Determined to find him, she goes to his office where she activates a time travel machine. Kids help track the errant groom down and prevent the past and future from altering the present at the same time.
So, why is it called Mushroom Age? You’ll have to play to find out — we’re not telling.
Why we like it:
The strange and amazing landscapes that form the backdrop of this farfetched-but- fun story are eye-popping. And with 23 chapters and 45 levels (not to mention 41 mini-games), kids won’t finish quickly and easily.
At $6.99, this is one of the most expensive apps that we recommend, but it offers good game play and novelty value. After all, what other app manages to weave Socrates, dinosaurs, cavemen and robots into a single story line? Not one.
