Bug Builder is a simple painting app and the latest in a series of gorgeous apps from the developers who brought us Doodlecast for Kids and Sound Shaker (among many other high quality offerings).

Why we like it:
It couldn’t be more straightforward.  Kids choose a bug shape, paint it, and then tap it to make the bug “hatch” (which is to say, add wings, legs, eyes, and antennae — this part is random, not custom).  That’s it.  No reading required.

FYI: the second time we launched this app, we were prompted to check out Doodlecast for Kids.  That’s okay with us (since it’s a great app), but parents should know that the company is marketing their other apps.
