Did the Easter Bunny come and leave a basket of eggs and chocolate bunnies at your house? Download these fun Easter apps to keep your kids occupied when the sugar crash set sets in.
Looking for the best free, fun, and addictive Easter apps and games for kids, toddlers and preschoolers? We tried lots of (mostly underwhelming!) Easter apps this year. Here are the best of the bunch:
1. DRESS THE BUNNY
Grade: B+ | Age rating: 2+ | $0.99
Select a photo of a real bunny, then add things like crowns, sunglasses and hats for the bunny to wear. Gussy her up with accessories and embellish your photo with notes and colorful trinkets. Probably a better app for girls, but I think the whole family can enjoy together because you can get really silly with this app.
Best part of Dress the Bunny? You can save your photo to your library, share it on Facebook, send it to your friends or submit it to the app’s blog “The Bunny Diary” for consideration in their user creations page .
2. JAM DANCE: DANCING EASTER BUNNY
Grade: A- | Age rating: 1+ | $0.99
Make the bunny dance and sing with this super silly, fun app! This was a big hit in our house as we all got up and got our groove on with the dancing Easter bunny. There are some instructions on how to operate the app in the beginning, but toddlers have just as much fun on their own sliding the tempo slider to make the bunny sing-real-fast and sing-real-slow mode.
Don’t miss tapping around the bunny to get him to say funny things and throw eggs at you.
3. WOOD PUZZLE EASTER COLORS
Grade: A- | Age rating: 1+ | $1.99
A simple yet terrific game with English and Spanish versions for toddlers. We’re thrilled that Wood Puzzle comes out with a new version for all the top holidays. Shake the iPad to release the puzzle pieces, then drag them back together. Sound effects help the child figure out when the pieces fit and congratulate them when they solve a puzzle.
A good app for playing year round, despite holiday colors and themes. My 2-year-old still loves the Halloween version of the Wood Puzzle the best.
4. EGGSTER
Grade: B+ | Age rating: 4+ | $1.99
A very addictive game where kids match three of the same things in a row, either vertically or horizontally—flowers, eggs, bunnies. Great for kids of different ages because there are different levels and Game Center achievements.
